Biography

Dr. Edmund Tumusiime is a Ugandan academic and researcher at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). He successfully defended his PhD on 20th June 2023 during a public Viva Voce held at the CEDAT Conference Hall. His doctoral work was commended for its practical recommendations and resulted in four publications in reputable journals, underscoring his contribution to engineering scholarship.

The defense was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dorothy Okello, Dean of the School of Engineering, who praised his dedication to teaching and research. The Principal of CEDAT, Prof. Henry Alinaitwe, also highlighted the significance of his work in strengthening the college’s academic reputation.

Before completing his PhD, Dr. Tumusiime served as an Assistant Lecturer at Makerere University, where he taught and mentored students in engineering disciplines. His career reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the advancement of Uganda’s engineering sector.
