Research Interests: Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems Planning, Resilience of Electrical Networks, Climate Change and Energy, and Microgrids and Renewable Integration.
Dr. Milton Edimu is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). He holds a PhD in Power and Energy Systems from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where his research focused on climate change impacts on power systems and probabilistic modelling. He also earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University. Dr. Edimu’s expertise lies in power transmission, network reliability, energy systems planning, and statistical modelling for sustainable development. Beyond academia, he is the Founding Director of the Research and Education Agency (RAE), an initiative dedicated to expanding access to both formal and non-formal education. He is a Registered Engineer (R. Eng) and a certified PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner, actively contributing to Uganda’s energy and education sectors.
