Biography

Jesse Tukacungurwa is an architect and academic serving in the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), Makerere University. He contributes to both teaching and professional practice, focusing on the integration of design innovation, sustainability, and cultural identity in architectural education.

He holds professional qualifications in architecture and design, with experience in both academic instruction and applied practice. His work emphasizes the role of architecture in addressing Uganda’s urbanization challenges, particularly through housing, settlement planning, and community-centered design approaches.

His research interests include sustainable architecture, climate-responsive design, housing and settlement planning, and participatory urban development, reflecting his commitment to shaping resilient and inclusive built environments. Through his teaching and practice, Jesse Tukacungurwa continues to advance architectural education and contribute to Uganda’s evolving urban landscape.
