Biography

Dr. Nabuyungo Ritah Edopu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fine Art at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art (MTSIFA), College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), Makerere University. She holds a Ph.D, MA in Fine Art, BA in Fine Art, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management. With over 20 years of experience across academia, design, and community engagement, she has worked extensively with public, private, and civil society sectors.

Her research interests focus on knowledge transfer partnerships between universities and communities of practice, art education, art for social change, and active learning methodologies. She has been a research fellow under the Makerere University SIDA Bilateral Program (2011) and the SECA-Carnegie Program (2019).

Dr. Edopu has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, and her scholarship emphasizes the role of art as a catalyst for social transformation and community empowerment.
