Dr. Lilian Oryema is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geomatics and Land Management at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). With over 15 years of teaching and research experience, she specializes in land surveying, geospatial sciences, and sustainable land governance.
Her research explores responsible land management, urban agriculture integration, and geospatial policy for sustainable development. She has published widely, including in the African Journal on Land Policy and Geospatial Sciences, and collaborates with international partners from institutions such as the Technical University of Munich and University of Twente.
Dr. Oryema is passionate about bridging academic research with practical solutions to Uganda’s land management challenges, advancing innovation in geospatial technologies while mentoring the next generation of professionals.
