The Collede has academic staff population of 227 staff (Over 50% with PhD’s and others pursuing PhD studies); administrative and support staff population of 95 members and is housed in approximately 20,000 sq m of space.

Facilities and Resources

College Library: The library is made up of two libraries, namely; Technology Library located at the New Technology Building, and MTSIFA Library located at the Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Art.

Equipment and Laboratories at CEDAT: The college has a number of labs and equipment used for learning or training students. These labs are spread in different Schools and Departments. The college has over 14 laboratories with over 100 functional Equipment

Academic achievements 2024

Graduation statistics: The College of Engineering, Design, Art, and Technology (CEDAT) celebrated the achievements of 760 graduands during the 75th Makerere University graduation ceremony, held on January 17, 2025, at Freedom Square. Among the graduates were 265 women and 501 men, with four outstanding individuals receiving their PhDs.

Awards and Recognition: 15 staff members from the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) were recognized for their exceptional contributions in research and teaching during the Makerere University Convocation 75th graduation luncheon, held on Friday, January 17th, 2025. The event celebrated the achievements of top students, teachers, and researchers, with special awards presented to CEDAT staff for their outstanding performance and dedication.

Physical Location:

The College has 2 locations: MTSIFA is located at the South wing of the Campus, while the Administration, School of Engineering, School of the Built environment are located at the Northwest wing of the Campus. The two wings are connected by a College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) road called Mary Stuart Road (Technology Road).
