Profile

Francis is a Uganda citizen with expertise in Renewable Energy systems technologies. he have garnered Ten years of experience in research, design, installation and commissioning of electricity infrastructure project mainly Hydropower and Solar Photovoltaic projects. Currently is a PhD student at Loughborugh University (UK) the same University where he obtained a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Systems Technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Makerere University. Since August 2017, Francis has been working as an Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Design, Arts and Technology, Makerere University in Kampala Uganda. His specialty is in conducting hydrology & hydraulic studies, GIS mapping, power modelling, power plant layout, financial & Economic analysis of energy projects, Power Purchase Agreement negotiations, power plant designs & design reviews, conducting Non Destructive Tests for welded material, factory acceptance tests, Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaics research and design among others. Francis teaches courses in renewable energy systems, heat transfer, Air conditioning and refrigeration plus supervising final-year undergraduate projects. He is both registered with Energy Institute (UK) and Institute of Mechanical Engineers (UK).
