DESCRIPTION:  \n \nOpening on 14th November 2013 at 6 pm\nMakerere Art Gallery/ IHCR\n Free entry \nThe Poetic Line shows works by the Nsukka group that emerged around 1979 in Nigeria. The Nsukka artists are a group of artists active in the international contemporary art scene. Their artistic approach is marked by linking the traditional past with the present. They adopted European media and combined these tools and techniques with the traditional form of uli (traditional Igbo designs and styles) which is often described as linear and two-dimensional.
