Directed exploration of any or all matrix-based imaging processes intaglio, relief, lithography, screen printing, photo-print methods and mono-print. Students examine both historical prints and current trends in printmaking as they develop personal imagery and build knowledge of printmaking processes and techniques. The course requires students to write a study of a printmaker, looking at their work in detail, in order to inform their own work.
The objective of this course is to equip students with skills in printmaking through practical projects based on using matrix-based imaging processes. Through a study of a master printmaker, students develop personal direction in their work.
