Course Description

Visual Communication and Graphic Design. The interdisciplinary course focuses on exploration and use of design for effective visual communication. Students will undertake projects and self-initiated projects to encourage conceptual thinking refinement of design and appropriate of form to content and function. It will also cover   Symbols, metaphors and myth,   culture and technology, cross cultural and creative use of symbol in design

Course Objectives

The course will enable students to be able to:

  • Distinguish and analyze the key Visual communication aspects, terminology, methods, systems used graphic design.
  • Discover and demonstrate major Symbols, metaphors and myth,   culture and technology, cross cultural and creative use of symbol in design
  • Explore refinement of design, through self-initiated Visual communication- related projects
