Course Description

Fundamentals of sculpture processes will be reiterated in relation to set objectives individual student researches. Using tools and materials in unconventional and unexpected ways will be encouraged. Examining and reviewing of traditions inherited from the past will be an important consideration.

Course Objectives

  • To nurture the students sensitivity and concern to local life and use it as a resource for developing sculptures.
  • To appreciate the often convoluted paths sculptors use in their working processes.
  • To engage students in debates over is art and what it is not.
  • To inculcate analytical skills in sculpture emerging from multi directional sources.
