Course Description

This course introduces strategies in drawing to address identified drawing tasks. Students are encouraged to explore various approaches in drawing and use of a variety of drawing media, apply and expand their level of technical skills, consider alternative drawing methods and use of drawing as a vehicle for personal expression. Still life, the human figure as well as animals will be critically observed, technically emotionally tackled. Emphasis will be placed on a general study of bone structure and muscles.

The drawing approach in this research may be abstraction or figuration, objective or imaginary varying in format and scale. Students will be self driven, designing projects that nurture reflection and introspection. This will encourage sensitive manipulation of the media and subject matter.
