Course Description
The course will enable the students to base on origins of type, developments and technical aspects to undertake rigorous experimental typographic design and creative individual expressions using both the traditional and digital techniques. Students will investigate the following categories of Typography: Manual, Type, Web, Poster, and Digital and experimental, both as an Art and a means to effective communication.
Course Objectives
The course will enable students to be able to:
- Identify origins of type , developments and technical aspects
- Demonstrate understanding of categories of Typography: Manual, Type, Web, Poster, and Digital and experimental,
- Undertake rigorous methodological typographic design though creative individual expressions using both the traditional and digital techniques.
- Refine of designs, through self-initiated Visual communication- related projects
