Course Description
This course aims to develop skills for analysis of sources, original research, and scholarly-writing within museum contexts. Students acquire requisite knowledge and skill for professional curatorial practice. The course will prepare students in museum science to organize, explore and embrace original research for application within professional museum and curatorial contexts.
The focus is on: i) Curatorial issues that provide examples for developing critical and analytical techniques and; ii) Information and practical suggestions for the development, organization and presentation of research.
Course Objectives
This course is intended to:
- Help students to develop critical skills required for critical analysis of sources.
- Guide students in the exploration of original research.
- Assist students to apply expository writing within the context of museums.
