Consultative workshop on MSc/PGD and Short Courses in Sanitation

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, CEDAT, hosted a half-day stakeholders’ consultation workshop on Thursday 13th February, 2020 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Food Science Conference Hall, Makerere University. The purpose of the workshop was to gather views on the relevance of the proposed curricula of Master of Science (MSc)/Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) and Short Course programs in Sanitation.

The workshop sought to propose any necessary changes to enable graduates to be more competitive and with requisite capacity to contribute to National and International development. The programs aim to attract talented and ambitious young and mid-career sanitation professionals, working in water supply and sewerage companies, municipal authorities, government ministries, NGOs and consulting firms, ideally, individuals dealing with urban and peri- urban sanitation.

The following stakeholders were represented at the stakeholder workshop:
