National Science Week 2025 Showcases Uganda’s Innovation at Kololo

The College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology is participating in the National Science Week 2025 which is in full swing at Kololo Independence Grounds, bringing together innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs to highlight Uganda’s advancements in science, technology, and innovation.

Organized by the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Secretariat under the Office of the President, this annual event serves as a strategic platform for showcasing groundbreaking inventions, fostering collaboration, and driving research toward market-ready solutions. The event that started on June 15th will run until 20th, June 2025, and this year’s theme is. “Made in Uganda: Innovation to Market”, emphasizes the country’s growing capacity to transform local ideas into commercially viable products.

Participants include over 300 Ugandan innovators, leading researchers, and students from institutions such as Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art, and Technology. Their presence underscores Uganda’s commitment to nurturing home-grown scientific talent and promoting entrepreneurship.

Other activities during this year’s exhibition include panel discussions, and live demonstrations of pioneering technologies. Government officials, investors, and international delegates are also engaging in conversations on scaling local innovations to global markets.


The exhibition has already featured innovative projects in renewable energy, health technologies, agriculture, and artificial intelligence, showcasing Uganda’s potential to become a regional leader in technological advancement.


As the event continues, stakeholders are optimistic that the collaborations and insights gained from the National Science Week 2025 will propel Uganda’s innovation ecosystem to new heights.
