Call for applications: Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunity – Academic Year 2025/26

The College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), through the School of Engineering (SoE) at Makerere University, invites applications from eligible continuing students for a scholarship opportunity supported by the China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Limited (CPP). This
scholarship is offered under a collaborative framework between Makerere University and the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, which enables EACOP’s contractors such as CPP to contribute to capacity-building and skills development. The scholarship targets second-year undergraduate
students pursuing engineering and technical degrees that align with Uganda’s infrastructure and energy priorities. It aims to support academically excellent and financially disadvantaged students to complete their studies and contribute meaningfully to the national development. CPP is a globally recognized engineering and construction firm specializing in oil and gas pipeline projects, electrical and telecommunications systems, and renewable energy infrastructure. CPP is the main contractor for the
construction of East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project from Hoima Uganda to the port of Tanga in Tanzania.

  1. Eligibility Criteria
    1) Be a continuing student at Makerere University scheduled to start their second year in August 2025.
    2) Be currently admitted to BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Land Surveying and Geomatics.
    3) Ugandan nationals with priority given to students from the following districts: Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Gomba, Sembabule, Lwengo, Kyotera, and Rakai.
