Research Interests: Geoinformation Management, Land Management and Land cover/Land use applications ofRemote sensing
Dr. Mazimwe Allan, PhD is a Lecturer in the Department of Geomatics and Land Management, School of the Built Environment, College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) at Makerere University. He holds a PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree from Makerere University, reflecting a strong academic foundation in geoinformation sciences. His teaching and research focus on geoinformation management, land management, and the application of remote sensing to land cover and land use analysis. Dr. Mazimwe’s work emphasizes the integration of spatial data technologies to support sustainable development, environmental monitoring, and effective land use planning. He is committed to advancing knowledge in geomatics while mentoring students to apply geospatial tools in solving real-world challenges. His contributions strengthen Makerere University’s role in producing research that informs policy and practice in Uganda and beyond, particularly in areas of land governance and environmental sustainability.
