Training report on physical planning and urban management and governance
This report documents the four previous training events conducted in Gulu, Arua, Jinja and Mbarara cities targeting in each city 35 stakeholders (city leaders, technocrats, and academia and private sector/CSO representatives). This training activity is one in a series of training delivered by College of Engineering, Design, Art, and Technology (CEDAT), Makerere University in the project’s four focus cities (Gulu, Arua, Mbarara and Jinja) between 25th September 2023 and 11th November 2023. This contributes to achieving output 1.4 “A Knowledge and Engagement Platform established by Makerere University. This training is aligned with the recently established Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Makerere University and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) under Greening Uganda’s Urbanization and Industrialization project. The training’s core focus centered on physical planning, urban management, and governance, as outlined in the two specialized training manuals developed by the university.
