Makerere University will hold the 62nd graduation ceremony from January 16th-20th, 2012, the institution’s Academic Registrar, Mr. Alfred Masikye Namoah, has said.
Addressing journalists at a press conference on Monday, 2nd January, Mr. Namoah said 11,022 students will be awarded degrees and diplomas. This time round, 42 students will be awarded PhDs. Of these, 28 are male whereas 14 are female. A total of 1,032 students, 646 male and 386 female will be awarded Masters Degrees whereas 15 male and three (03) female will graduate with Post Graduate Diplomas. The University will also award 5,079 male and 4,592 female undergraduate degrees and 259 students, undergraduate diplomas. In total, 5,873 male and 5,149 female will be awarded degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.
Mr. Namoah said the transcripts are ready and graduands can pick them at their convenient time.
The University also plans to award Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki an Honorary Doctorate for his outstanding contribution to the development of Makerere University.
551 students to graduate from CEDAT
551 Students will be graduating from the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology on Monday 16th January 2012. Of these, 18 will be awarded graduate degrees and 533 students will be awarded their undergraduate degrees. This year, 255 students will be graduating from the School of Engineering, 178 from the School of Built Environment and 100 students from the Margret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts.
