A delegation from Shenyang Aerospace University, China on Tuesday January 14th, visited the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology and interacted with the Principal, Assoc. Prof. Henry Alinaitwe and the Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Dr Julius Butime.

The Chinese delegation comprised Mr Richard Chen, the Dean – International Education College and Mr Charles Lv, the Head of Admissions and Career Planning Office.

The purpose of their visit was to seek collaborations with the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Art & Design.

The two parties drew up a Memorandum of Understanding which allows for the two universities to award joint bachelor and master degrees, student and staff exchanges, joint research and publications and scholarships for master students.

Shenyang Aerospace University will offer one Masters Scholarship to a student from CEDAT in 2015.

“We will be happy to participate in your conferences. You just have to invite us,” Richard said.

Assoc. Prof. Henry Alinaitwe thanked the delegation for their initiative and pledged that the college was ready to support and participate in the implementation of the MOU.

He called on members of staff and the student population to embrace these opportunities.
