The Science and Technology Standing Committee of the Parliament of Uganda will this Friday, February 10th pay a visit to the College of Engineering ,Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) to evaluate and assess the research programs at the university and the mechanisms on ground to ensure these programs translate into development at all levels in the country. The students and lectures of the College have been involved in several research projects like the Vehicle design project, the low cost irrigation project, iLabs@MAK among others.

The visit will also identify the challenges faced by the university in achieving its research and development objectives which will inform the national assembly on the way forward, policy and the role it can play to assist Makerere University in achieving its objectives.

In a letter written to the university by the Committee Chairman Honourable Obua Denis Hamson. The committee is tasked to monitor activities in Public institutions and any other bodies engaged in national science and technology development.
