Robert Burns, giving his lecture to the public

On Tuesday 26th February 2020, the Department of Architecture and Physical Planning hosted Irish based Senior Engineer, Robert Burns in a guest lecture in urban planning. The lecture that started at 2:00pm in CEDAT Conference Hall.

Robert is a Senior Engineer at Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, part of the Greater Dublin Region in Ireland. He has 25 years’ experience in the fields of Civil Engineering, Transportation and Project Management. He has specifically been part of projects to upgrade road, railway and public lighting infrastructure, taking the lead on innovative projects such as the strategic planning for the installation of Electric Charging Infrastructure in the Dublin Region.

The lecture by Eng. Burns was attended by both students and staff from CEDAT and the speaker pointed out the importance of using alternative transport means in busy city centres as a means of decongesting roads and reducing traffic delays.
