Biography

Agatha Amara Turyagyenda is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). She holds a Master of Science in Electronics Communication and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Makerere University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering.

Her teaching focuses on Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering, where she supervises student projects, designs coursework, and engages in outreach programs to skill communities in electronics. Her research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), sensor networks, signal processing, and applied computer technologies. She is part of the Adaptive Environmental Monitoring Networks for East Africa (AdEMNEA) project, where she is developing IoT-based systems to track African honeybee behaviors and activities.

Agatha is passionate about leveraging technology for agriculture, healthcare, and environmental monitoring, combining academic rigor with practical innovation.
