Biography

Dr. Donna Lillian Namujju is an electrical engineer, energy economist, and innovation strategist with over 15 years of experience in sustainable energy systems and digital transformation. She earned her PhD in Energy Economics from Paderborn University in Germany, following earlier studies in Engineering and Policy Analysis and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University. At Makerere University, she serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where she teaches and researches at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutional development. Her work focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence, IoT, and digital solutions to expand energy access, strengthen agro-industrial value chains, and advance e-mobility in Africa. Beyond academia, she advises governments, businesses, and regional organizations on energy policy and innovation strategies. Dr. Namujju is widely recognized for bridging engineering expertise with policy frameworks to drive sustainable development across Africa.
