Biography

Dr. Emmanuel Tumwesigye is a Ugandan civil and environmental engineer specializing in hydroinformatics, hydrodynamics modeling, and sustainable urban water systems. He earned his PhD in Hydroinformatics from University College Cork, an MSc in Hydroinformatics from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Makerere University. He serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Makerere University, where he teaches and supervises research in urban drainage hydraulics, flood risk assessment, and water resource management. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Tumwesigye is the Director of Engineering and Knowledge Management at WSS Services (U) Ltd, a consultancy focused on water infrastructure development. His research interests include dam break modeling, flood mitigation strategies, and ICT-driven approaches to water systems planning. Through his interdisciplinary work, he advances climate-resilient urban water solutions and bridges the gap between research and practice in Uganda.
