Biography

Dr. Fildah Ayaa is a Ugandan academic and researcher specializing in renewable energy, environmental engineering, and computational modeling. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (2008) and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (2014) from Makerere University, where she is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Bio-Systems Engineering. She also holds advanced training in water management, environmental risk assessment, and e‑teaching from institutions in Israel and Norway, and is pursuing a PhD in Material Sciences. Since joining Makerere in 2008, Dr. Ayaa has taught engineering mechanics, mathematics, and food process engineering. Her research focuses on sustainable energy technologies, computational fluid dynamics, nanotechnology, and waste management. Beyond academia, she has consulted widely on renewable energy projects and contributes to collaborative networks such as the African Research Universities Alliance. Her work emphasizes innovative, practical solutions for Africa’s energy and environmental challenges.
