Research Interest:
Dr. Ismail Kimuli is a Ugandan academic and researcher in Mechanical Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). He earned his PhD in 2023, focusing on energy systems and sustainability, under the mentorship of Prof. John Baptist Kirabira and colleagues. At Makerere, he lectures in mechanical engineering, guiding students in energy modeling, engineering design, and sustainable technology development. His research interests include energy and climate policy, low‑carbon development pathways, and integrated modeling frameworks. Dr. Kimuli has published in leading journals such as Energy Reports and Energy Strategy Reviews, with notable contributions on hybrid TIMES/CGE modeling for low‑carbon strategies in Kampala and macroeconomic analyses of electrification in Uganda. Beyond academia, he serves as Managing Director of Global Link Associates Ltd, applying his expertise to practical energy and sustainability projects. His work bridges research, teaching, and industry to advance Uganda’s clean energy transition.
