Dr. May Namutebi is a Ugandan academic and transportation engineering specialist, serving as a Lecturer at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). She holds advanced training from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and has built her career around transportation engineering, highway engineering, and geotechnical engineering (soil mechanics).
Her expertise includes road design (geometric and pavement engineering), research supervision, and consultancy in the rehabilitation and maintenance of road works. She has also contributed to projects involving car park design and transport infrastructure planning, combining technical knowledge with practical applications.
Dr. Namutebi is actively engaged in teaching, mentoring undergraduate students, and publishing scientific papers and technical reports. Her research interests focus on sustainable transportation systems, infrastructure resilience, and geotechnical solutions for Uganda’s growing urban environments. Through her academic and consultancy work, she continues to shape the future of civil and transportation engineering in Uganda.
