Biography

Dr. Nyenje Mayanja Philip is a Ugandan civil and environmental engineer specializing in water resources, hydrology, sanitation, and GIS applications. He earned his PhD in Water Science and Engineering from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, the Netherlands, a Master’s in Water Resources Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Makerere University.

He currently serves as a Lecturer and Researcher at the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), Makerere University, where he teaches and supervises research in water resources management and environmental engineering. His scholarly work focuses on groundwater resilience to climate variability, urban sanitation systems, and nutrient release in sub-Saharan Africa, with widely cited publications in Science of the Total Environment and Nature.

Dr. Nyenje is also a member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers, contributing to both academic research and professional practice in sustainable water and sanitation solutions for Africa.
