Dr. Ronald Kizito is a Ugandan electrical engineer and academic whose work bridges telecommunications, broadcasting, and artificial intelligence. He serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Makerere University, where he teaches and supervises research in communication systems and applied engineering. His scholarly interests span amplifier circuits, mobile communication systems, and ICT usability, with a strong emphasis on developing solutions tailored to low- and middle-income countries. Dr. Kizito is also the Principal Investigator of a Makerere University Research and Innovation Fund (MAKRIF) project on Luganda Neural Text-to-Speech systems, which leverages AI to enhance accessibility and health communication in indigenous languages. His contributions extend to applied research in laser beam propagation, adaptive optics, and prototype development for medical and communication devices. Through his interdisciplinary work, Dr. Kizito advances Uganda’s capacity in telecommunications and AI-driven innovation for sustainable development.
