Biography

Dr. Roseline N. Akol is a Ugandan electrical engineer and academic whose career bridges research, teaching, and leadership in engineering education. She earned her PhD in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, following earlier degrees in electronic and electrical engineering. Since 2010, she has served as a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Makerere University, where she also held the position of Head of Department from 2015 to 2019. Her research focuses on renewable energy systems, photovoltaic technologies, wireless communication networks, and the application of machine learning to energy and communication challenges. Dr. Akol has contributed to advancing sustainable energy solutions in Uganda, particularly in rural electrification and precision agriculture. Beyond academia, she has engaged in industry through board service, linking research with practical applications. Her work continues to shape Uganda’s engineering landscape and inspire future innovators.
