Dr. Ian Senkatuka is a Ugandan architect, urban planner, and academic serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), Makerere University. He is also a practicing architect with Creations Consult Africa Limited, where he contributes to architectural design, urban and regional planning, and project management across Uganda and other African countries.
He holds a PhD in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, a Master’s in Project Planning and Management, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Makerere University. His academic and professional work bridges theory and practice, focusing on sustainable urban development and participatory approaches to infrastructure management.
His research interests include urban infrastructure management, participatory planning, sustainable architecture, and community-centered design, reflecting his commitment to shaping resilient and inclusive cities in Africa.
