Eng. Meri Carlos Tony is a Ugandan civil engineer and academic, serving as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). He is also an Engineering Consultant with the Office of the Auditor General of Uganda, where he conducts technical audits of public infrastructure works.
He holds professional registration as a Registered Engineer (REng.) and is a member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (MUIPE). His teaching portfolio includes courses such as Statics and Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Theory of Structures, Finite Element Method, Advanced Structural Mechanics, and Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures.
His research interests focus on structural and bridge engineering, transportation and highway engineering, and materials performance, with published work on topics such as alkali-silica reaction in hydropower structures. Eng. Meri Carlos Tony is committed to advancing structural resilience and sustainable infrastructure development in Uganda through teaching, research, and consultancy.
