Research Interests: Construction Project Management, Construction Economics, Sustainable Infrastructure Development, Risk Assessment and Management, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Community‑Responsive Infrastructure, and Inclusive Engineering Education.
Namakula Hidaya is a faculty member in the Department of Construction Economics and Management at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). Her teaching and research focus on construction project management, sustainable infrastructure, and the economics of the built environment. She is committed to equipping students with practical and analytical skills that respond to Uganda’s evolving construction industry. Namakula’s research interests include cost management, project planning, risk assessment, and the integration of innovative technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve efficiency and sustainability. She has engaged in collaborative initiatives that strengthen academia–industry partnerships, ensuring that research outputs are relevant and impactful. Passionate about mentorship, she fosters inclusive participation in engineering and construction education, encouraging diverse voices in technical fields. Through her work, Namakula advances CEDAT’s mission of driving innovation, design, and technology for national and regional transformation.
