Biography

Mr. Martin Tumutungire is an academic and researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Makerere University’s College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Makerere University and has pursued graduate studies in Water Resources Engineering. His research focuses on hydrology, climate change impacts on water systems, and sustainable water resources management. He has published in international journals, including studies on the performance evaluation of climate and satellite datasets (CFSR, MERRA-2, TRMM3B42) in simulating river discharge in tropical catchments and the impact of COVID-19 on household water use in Uganda. His expertise lies in hydrological modelling, bias correction techniques, and water supply systems under climate variability. At CEDAT, Mr. Tumutungire contributes to teaching and mentoring in water resources engineering and hydrological modelling, supporting Uganda’s efforts in climate resilience and infrastructure development.
