On Monday 9th 2022, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with the Resilient Africa Network (RAN) paid a courtesy visit to the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) to appreciate its works through laboratory-based innovations to impacting communities.
This Delegation included Professor Maggie Linak the Resilient Africa Agreement Officer Representative and Janet Ellzey a professor of mechanical Engineering at the university of Texas United States who first met with the university vice chancellor and patron RAN professor Barnabas Nawangwe are in Uganda for capacity building of the Resilient Africa Networkteam and the community projects supported by the USAID under Resilient Africa Network (RAN).
Professor Linak and Ellzey appreciated the works done in the mechanical, fluids, statistical and Systems laboratories of CEDAT including in particular the Net Labs that is hosting a summer engagement of computer language fascinated fellows equipping them with advanced networking and machine learning.
The Deputy Principal of the college of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology Professor Vennie Nakazibwe applauded the chief host for the delegates Dr. Dorothy Okello who also serves as the Dean school of Engineering for her outstanding networking and negotiation abilities that have seen a number of donors interested in works that happen at CEDAT. “We do appreciate the support USAID has given to us and the students as we continue to impacting communities through our innovations”, added Prof Nakazibwe.
The Dean school of Engineering Dr. Dorothy Okello welcomed the team to CEDAT “the home of Innovations” as referred to by many and appreciated Resilient Africa Network under the visionary leadership of Professor William Bazeyo for being one of CEDAT’s biggest supporters under the United States Agency for International Development.
