FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS-2nd NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMMUNICATIONS
10 – 11 September 2012

The Second National Conference on Communications (NCC) will be held in Kampala, Uganda, from 10 – 11 September 2012. The NCC provides an opportunity to build capacity and strengthen the academic and industry communities in communications – particularly in the research of locally relevant solutions. The NCC provides students, researchers, developers, and practitioners with a platform to address new research challenges, share solutions and discuss issues relevant to the communications sector of Uganda. The NCC will also host keynote and invited speakers to share their views on communications from regulation, social-economic, political and gender perspectives.

NCC2012 will be hosted under the theme “Exploring Technology for National Development”, and conference topics include, but are not limited, to the following categories:

  • Communications Systems
  • Broadcasting
  • Next Generation Networks, Protocols, and Services
  • Services, Applications and Business
  • Information Infrastructure
  • Energy and Communications
  • National Plans, Policies and Education

Important Dates:
Conference Papers Due: 6th July 2012
Acceptance Notification: 27th July 2012
Final, Camera Ready Papers, Due: 10th August 2012

Paper Submission:
Papers submitted to NCC2012 must not have been published elsewhere. Students with works in progress are encouraged to make submissions too. Paper submissions should follow the NCC double-column paper format, and should be submitted electronically via the NCC2012 website. A maximum of seven (7) pages including all figures and references are allowed for each paper. Submitted papers will undergo a peer review process, coordinated by the Program Committee.

Submission of a paper implies that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors must register and attend NCC2012 to present the work. Instructions and guidelines for electronic submission are available by email via ncc@cedat.mak.ac.ug, and will be posted on the NCC2012 website.
